The publication also ranked the best employers in New York, with a New York City agency taking a top spot. The New York Fire Department, founded in 1865 and now employing 17,074 people, took the No. 8 spot on the list. Public Works Partners, an urban planning management consulting firm focused on the public sector, also landed on the Inc. 5000 list.

NEW YORK CITY — New York City's Michael Bloomberg is now still the 7th richest person in the world, worth an estimated $94.5 billion, according to Forbes, whose list of the Richest Billionaires is one of several business rankings prominently mentioning our state in 2023.
