Carlton Mcpherson, a 24-year-old subway shover, has been charged with murder for pushing a man onto the tracks and causing him to be hit by a train. The incident occurred at around 7 p.m. at a Harlem station and occurred shortly after. Mcpheron was arrested just hours after the fatal train strike. The NYPD has removed the ability to reply as part of its efforts to make improvements to the system.

HARLEM, NY — A subway shover who pushed a man onto the tracks and was then struck by a train inside a Harlem station Monday night has been arrested, police said.

Carlton Mcpherson, 24, was arrested just hours after the fatal train strike, officials said. He was charged with murder, police said. The fatal incident happened at around 7 p.m. when a 24-year-old man was shoved to the subway tracks from the uptown 4 train platform inside the 125 Street and Lexington Avenue subway station, police said.

An uptown 4 train then struck the man, killing him, officials said. First responders declared the man dead at the scene, according to police. Mcpherson was cuffed at the scene shortly after the death, officials said.
