NYC Weather: 'Major Coastal Storm' Threatens 3-Inch Rain, 45 MPH Winds

No less than four National Weather Service alerts — including a high wind warning — faced the city Wednesday. A "major coastal storm" is expected to bring up to 3 inches of rain, 45 mph winds, and potentially flood parts of New York City. The National Weather Service has issued four weather alerts, including a high wind warning, a flood watch, a coastal flood advisory and a hazardous weather outlook. The flood watch warns that additional rainfall rainfall rates of 0.5-0.75"/hr may cause concern. The storm system is also expected to affect the Eastern U.S. with many areas receiving heavy snow. New York will not be the same late-season winter storm as expected, with temperatures expected to reach 44 degrees.
