NEW YORK CITY — Former NBA player Ben Gordon was arrested at LaGuardia Airport after authorities said he hit his 10-year-old son, according to reports.
The incident unfolded Monday while Gordon awaited a flight to Chicago, where he once played for the Bulls, the New York Post reported. Details were still scant Tuesday, but Port Authority cops apparently stopped Gordon from getting on the plane and handcuffed him over accusations he hit the boy, the Post reported.
Two officers also received minor injuries during the arrest, but it wasn't clear how that happened, according to the Post's report. Gordon is perhaps best known for playing for the Chicago Bulls from 2004 to 2009.
But since he left the NBA, he has had a spate of legal troubles, including a 2017 incident in which he was accused of punching, pulling a knife on and robbing an apartment manager in Los Angeles, ESPN reported. Read the full New York Post here.
