NYC Subways: Delays Hit 9 Lines During Morning Rush Hour
A bridge opening for marine traffic, disruptive passengers, debris on tracks and more made for a slow Wednesday morning for straphangers. Delays hit at least eight MTA subway lines during the morning rush hour on Wednesday morning, causing delays across several different lines. Debris on tracks, brake activations, people in need of medical help and mechanical problems were among the issues causing trains to slow. A disruptive person on a train also caused delays. The F train was further delayed in both directions due to debris on tracks near 65th Street. F and E line trains were delayed as crews investigated why a train's brakes activated at Jackson Heights-Roosevelt Avenue station. Trains along the 4 and 5 lines headed north were delayed due to medical help being requested for someone needing medical help. Two separate incidents also caused R trains headed south and N trains headed north due to a door problem and mechanical issues.

Delays hit at least eight MTA subway lines during Wednesday's morning rush hour, officials said. Debris on tracks, brake activations, people in need of medical help and mechanical problems were among the issues that caused trains to slow, according to MTA alerts.
And, in what likely rattled straphangers given recent violence in the subway system, a disruptive person on a train also prompted delays, officials said. "Northbound F trains are running with delays after NYPD removed a person being disruptive from a train at Jay St-MetroTech," the MTA tweeted shortly before 9 a.m.
The F train was further delayed in both directions because of debris on the tracks near 65th Street, an MTA post stated. F trains headed south, as well as E line trains, were delayed as crews investigated why a train's brakes activated at Jackson Heights-Roosevelt Avenue station, officials said.
Trains along the 4 and 5 lines headed north were delayed as crews requested medical help for someone at 14th Street-Union Square, the MTA posted. Two separate incidents — a person in need of medical help and a disruptive passenger — also prompted delays for R trains headed south at Jackson Heights-Roosevelt Avenue station about 8 a.m., a post states.
D and N trains headed north ran with delays because of a door problem on a train at 36th Street, according to a post. Court Square-bound G trains were delayed because of a mechanical problem at Broadway station, officials said. And A trains headed north ran with delays after the South Channel Bridge opened for marine traffic to pass, officials said.
